FUNDRAISING    for   WORLD   VISION   BEEHIVES

Chinook Honey Company has been fundraising for World Vision Beehive's for 3 years. In 2007 we raised $260.00 (2 hives and 1 beekeeping kit) and in 2008 $740.00 (5 beehives and 4 kits) . This year we'd like to raise at least $1000.

Why this cause? We agree that there are many people in our own community that need our support as well and we do give to many of those causes. However beekeeping is obviously very close to our hearts and we know how beehives can benefit farmers and communities. Not only can they sell or barter the honey, the medicinal use of hive products (bee pollen, propolis, royal jelly and bee venom therapy) can improve overall health without a dependency on 1st world medicines. As well, beekeeping is a job easy done by women and it can give them needed financial independence

This year the World Vision Beehive kits are to be given to Swaziland, Mongolia and Sri Lanka.
